Since 2017 the Naval Tata Hockey Academy (NTHA) is based in Jamshedpur. The NTHA is the top layer of our three layered pyramid structure, which is the model we work with for our projects. At the academy the focus is completely on hockey and education. Children live at the academy hostel and are offered the best facilities. A professional team of a head coach, 4 assistant coaches, 2 physiotherapist, a physical trainer, psychologist, and dietician are at their service to challenge them to become the best version of themselves. Children who play at the NTHA have a fair chance of being selected for the state team, corporate teams or even the national team.
At the NTHA the focus is not only on training, playing matches and tournaments but players are also serious students, and participate in extra curriculum activities such as dancing classes, theatre, and English. Besides that, the NTHA organizes day trips such as visits to the beach, zoo or cinema, and boys are free to visit the centre on Sundays under the guidance of a supervisor or in groups.
For children who first start in the grassroots with training, it is a possibility to get selected for the NTHA. Especially when they have the talent and the will power to continue with their development.
