In 2019 the NTHA Odisha was opened in the Kalinga Stadium. The NTHA is the top tier of our three layered pyramid structure. At the academy the focus is completely on hockey and education. Children live in the state of the art Kalinga Stadium and are offered world’s best facilities. A professional team, of a head coach, 2 assistant coaches, a physiotherapist, physical trainer, psychologist, and nutritionist, is at their service to challenge them to become the best version of themselves. Children who play at the NTHA have a fair chance of being selected for the state team, a corporate team or even the national team.
Currently, the NTHA Odisha hosts only girls. But this is about to change as everything is prepared to take the first batch of boys in. Eventually, we will expand to U17 and U19 girls and U15, U17 and U19 boys.
At the NTHA the focus is not only on training, playing matches and tournaments but players are also serious students, and participate in extra curriculum activities such as dancing classes, theatre, and English. Besides that, the NTHA organizes day trips such as visits to the beach, zoo or cinema.
For children who participate in the grassroots program, it is a possibility to get selected for the NTHA via the RDC. Especially when they have the talent and the will power to continue work hard, grow, and keep challenging and developing themselves.
