Gold and silver at Sub Junior State Tournament

Last month the Jharkhand State team played the Sub Junior State Tournament, in Jind, Haryana. Eight of our NTHA Jamshedpur boys were part of this team and won the gold medal. The team manager of the winning team, Rohit Kumar, is one of our NTHA coaches, it was a great experience for him to fulfil this role. And he did so with gusto!

Besides that we are very proud of our boys, their win is also important in different ways. Winning a gold medal means that they receive a certificate. Having at least two certificates and a school diploma makes a player eligible to play hockey at a professional level after 18.

But the boys were not the only one who gave a great performance. The girls of the Odisha NTH HPC (Odisha, Naval Tata Hockey High Performance Center) made it to the finals of the Sub Junior State Tournament. In an amazing exciting and thrilling game, which ended with shoot-out the girls earned the silver medal. We are extremely proud of the girls, for their extraordinary team performance.
