Sports for Youth Development In Punjab state, next to the Indian Pakistani border, young children are relatively often exposed to, and involved with drugs. Since one and a half year we run in cooperation with Navjeevan an after school hockey project in Jalandhar and Amritsar. Over time the project has grown steadily and today counts 650 children that show up regularly.Â
In this project, we work together with 15 schools and 10 communities which means that the training sessions ask for a different format as children can walk-in. One Million Hockey Legs has trained 8 local trainers to give training in a clinic format. In addition to the training sessions our partner Navjeevan runs anti-drug and tbc prevention programs. We are happy to share with you that the current 650 children participating in this project do not use drugs and perform better at school!
